Chapter 20
The next morning I woke up and got ready for work. Tay looked like she had just walked in the house. I know what that meant, she found a way into the game. I hope it works out for her.
“Hey boo, why you all dressed up? Where you bout to go this early?” Chantay asked.
“I’m bout to go work in Sha’nae’s shop. She gave me a job yesterday that’s why I was gone for so long. You need to bring your ass down there with me. Her salon be cracking. I made mad presidents yesterday.”
“Nah, I’m straight. I don’t fuck with Sha’nae like that. She mad cheap yo, I don’t go down there no more.”
“Oh aight chick, well I’m up. I’ll talk to you later. I’m bout to make this paper. Maybe we can hang out and go shopping or something.”
“That sounds like a plan. I need some new gear, so call me when you get back.” I left the house, and I made it to the salon fast as hell. There was little traffic on the road. I just knew it was going to be quiet in her salon since it’s early as hell. I walked through the door and got the shock of my life, it was packed already! Do these bitches have jobs? It’s only 9:00am, another busy ass day.
After work, I went back to the house. Ja-corey and Foxx were gone. I called Tay like ten times, but she didn’t answer so I cooked dinner then I chilled around the crib relaxing.
I was getting used to being back in Boston. I got up and went to work every day. I really ain’t have many problems except the constant threats from my family members.
Nia came over to my mother’s house the other day trying to start shit. I was about to beat her ass like all the other times I mopped her ass up and down the street, but Foxx wasn’t having that shit. He had shut that shit down before it got out of hand. Other than the Nia situation, being back home was straight. I often thought about Kent, but I never took the time out of my day to call him. I was on that think about me ish. I was back on my independent status.
I went in to work today, and it was finally a slow day. I was cool with that because I wasn’t feeling well. Sha’nae did my hair for me and since it was such a slow day she let me go home. I needed to relax ‘cause my ankles were swollen. I was at that point in my pregnancy where my feet would swell, my ankles looked like balloons and my face was fat. I couldn’t believe my second pregnancy was so different from my first. I guess the saying is true every pregnancy isn’t the same.
I went to sleep that night more exhausted than I usually am, so I planned to make me a doctor’s appointment. I needed to refill my prenatal vitamins.
